Via Treehugger, A Year of Green, Seasonal Eating in Oregon. Check it out! Nice little photo essay. The world would be a nicer place if everyone were eating this way—local produce that’s in season.  Going to farmers’ markets and participating in CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) have so many benefits, not the least of which is the fun of trying out new-to-you fruits and veggies.

Like, what does one do with a garlic scape or a stinging nettle? Find out.

Garlic scapes (never heard them called that before, btw) are delicious! I made a pizza with asparagus, garlic scapes, and black truffle oil, and also once topped polenta with them.
