This morning between 4 and 5 a.m. I was lucky enough to watch the sunrise at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport. Noticing the glorious pinks and oranges streaking the sky outside put in perspective the long line of anxious people waiting to go through security. And it startled me to realize how seldom I take the time to see the dawn break. We should all endeavor every so often to leave the coziness of bed and find a vantage to view this daily reminder of renewal and fresh beginnings.

I really like this photo. Especially the reflections of the airport lights.

Or wait actually, are those squares naturally occurring in the sky??? WHOA! I can’t tell. Sorry to hog your comments.

Peas.

Strangely shaped UFOs, perhaps? Yeah, part of me wants to tell the person how to reduce glare from windows in photographs, but ultimately I think they make this photo look really cool.

That is beautiful. I rarely see the dawn break, mostly because that is damned early to wake up, but also because it is almost always cloudy here.
